On June, 16th at Long An Provincial People’s Committee, Nhat Tam Investment and Service Joint Stock Company reported project of Long An Garbage proposal plant to the provincal leaders. This is a project to treat domestic and industrial waste in accordance with the management of solid waste (CTR) and domestic solid waste (CTRSH) of Long An province, with high feasibility and efficiency.

Attending the meeting, on the side of Long An province, there were Mr. Nguyen Van Ut - Provincial Party Deputy Secretary, Chairman of Long An provincial People’s Committee and representatives of departments, boards and industries.

Modern waste treatment technology

At the meeting, Mr. Pham The Truong - General Director of Nhat Tam company said that the construction project of Long An garbage disposal plant had evaluated for preliminary feasibility and supported from Korea International Cooperation Agency - KOICA in Vietnam.

Technology of Nhat Tam company does not burn garbage to generate electricity like others current waste treatment plants, it will thoroughly resolve long-term underground landfills and daily-life waste, simultaneously take advantage of organic fertilizer created by trash to bring benefits for local agriculture.

CTRSH treatment system of Nhat Tam is chosen from 6 technologies (integrated from patents, technology certificates)

All treatment plants are 95% automation. After treatment processing, the plant will recover 2 main products. Firstly, inorganic products turned to combustion fuel. Secondly, remaining organic products from from humus to be used as fertilizer to serve fields, crops, after harvests it will become combustion fuel.

High efficiency

With a total construction area of about 1.650 -1.700 hectares, the project has a closed model of agriculture, industry, energy creating mutually complementary value chain. The project is expected to solve the waste problem in the province in case the volume of waste is increasing and the former methods shall not satisfy the requirements.

Technology helps to thoroughly handle the environmental pollution problem, minimizing the landfill area. In addition, Long An Garbage Disposal Plant shall supply electricity to the natioanl grid, contributing to social-economic development, contributing to the budget and reduce electricity load for the locality. The project also creates jobs for 2.000 workers.

It is estimated that with 600 tons of garbage per day, Long An garbage disposal plant shall creat 90 tons of microbiological fertilizer per day, such amount of fertilizer is enough for 1.600-1800 hectares of high-quality crops. The total generating capacity is 50MW.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Ut – Long An Provincial Deputy Party Secretary, Chairman of Long An Provincial People’s Committee highly appreciated the report on the Long An garbage disposal plant of Nhat Tam company. He said:” Generally, the demand for scrap burning is really suitable for the situation of Long An provinve. Especially, infrastructure of Long An has not satisfied the large amount of garbage. However, the provine shall consider further as well as study more about the land bank of the province.”
