SAIGONTEL ACCOMPANIES OPEN INNOVATION

With the object of establishing Innovation hubs in the future, Saigon Telecommunication and Technology Corporation (SAIGONTEL) is honored to collaborate with the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Agency for Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Development (NATEC), State Committee for Overseas Vitenamese (SCOV), the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City, the Open Innovation & Technopreneur Institute (OITI), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and other partners organize the TECHTRAVERSE 2023 event - "Where technology meets industry," focus on sustainable development.

As part of the activities leading up to the National TECHFEST and WHISE HCMC 2023 and contributing to the implementation of Project 844, the Open Innovation Day (OID 2023) event took place from October 25-26 at the Saigon ICT Building - Saigontel, Quang Trung Software Park, Ho Chi Minh City. The event was attended by leaders from central ministries, the city People's Committee, as well as representatives from embassies and international organizations.

In today's context, Innovation is one of the three breakthrough strategies which promotes the development of each country, including Vietnam. Particularly, after strong commitments to the international community regarding the roadmap for reducing net emissions by 2050, Vietnam has made efforts to refine policies, encourage innovation activities, and focus on Green Growth. Therefore, the Open Innovation Day 2023 is organized to efficiently harness domestic and international resources in the field of innovation, aiming towards Green Growth. It provides a shared space for participants to discuss strategies, showcase technologies, green products, and explore opportunities for implementing innovative and entrepreneurial projects aligned with green transformation and sustainable development goals.

At the OID 2023 event, Saigontel, along with members of the Green Infrastructure Development Alliance, set up an exhibition booth showcasing models of green growth. The aim was to share and discuss information, solutions, and products related to innovation towards the goal of greening projects in Vietnam. Additionally, this was an opportunity for Saigontel to share with relevant agencies the model of exemplary industrial parks that are being applied to build a green production ecosystem. This includes models of circular economy, resource efficiency, and energy efficiency based on scientific and technological foundations, digital technology applications, and digital transformation. These initiatives contribute to enhancing competitive capacity and minimizing environmental impact.

Mr. Ho Anh Tung - Representative of the Green Alliance, shares insights on the topic "Promoting Sustainable Progress - Open Innovation in Response to ESG Practices”.

Additionally, representatives from the Saigontel Green Alliance participated in two panel discussions on green growth with the following themes: (1) Promoting Sustainable Progress - Open Innovation in Response to ESG Practices; (2) Innovative Solutions in Action: Projects Applying Green Solutions in Transportation in Bien Hoa.

Within the event framework, the National Agency for Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Development (NATEC) under Ministry of Science and Technology, Saigon Investment Group (SGI), and Saigon Telecommunication and Technology Corporation (Saigontel) signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on supporting the implementation of the national startup innovation ecosystem towards the set goals for 2025 and the vision for 2030.

It's known that the Saigontel Green Infrastructure Development Alliance includes companies with extensive experience in analyzing and advising on carbon reduction plans, developing clean energy projects, and green infrastructure in the United States and Europe. Currently, the alliance has been actively involved in consulting and collaborating with various localities such as Dong Nai, Long An, to assess the current situation and work towards reducing emissions at the local level. They provide insights into key projects, propose plans for emission reduction, coordinate in policy development, implement emission reduction plans, and enhance competitiveness. The alliance also aims to attract green financing from foreign investors and multinational corporations.
