At the Ramada Plaza Hotel in Suwon City, Korea, on October 5th, under the sponsor of the The Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam in the Republic of Korea and Hwaseong CCI, the investment promotion conference with the theme "Thai Nguyen - The successful destination for investors" was successfully held. This conference was organized by the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen Province in collaboration with Saigon Telecommunication and Technology Corporation (Saigontel).

Attending the conference from Thai Nguyen Province were Mr. Dang Xuan Truong, Member of the Standing Committee of the Thai Nguyen Province, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Hoang Van Hung, Member of the Standing Committee, Chairperson of Committee for Inspection of Province, along with leaders from several relevant departments, sectors, and local businesses and investors. in the side of Saigontel, there was Ms. Nguyen Cam Phuong, the CEO of Saigon Telecommunication and Technology Corporation, and other company leadership members. Additionally, the conference saw the participation of representatives from the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea, the Hwaseong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) in Korea, and nearly 100 Korean businesses.

In the speech at the Conference of Mr. Dang Xuan Truong, the Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee that expressed the province's desire for Thai Nguyen to continue being an attractive destination for both domestic and international investors in the coming time. The province will focus on implementing favorable policies, openness in attracting investment, improving the quality of administrative reforms, digital transformation promotion, dealing with difficulties and obstacles, and enhancing trust with investors who have undertaken projects in Thai Nguyen.

During the conference, Mr. Vu Van Chung, the Deputy Director General Foreign Investment Agency, Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI), shared an overview of Vietnam's economy in 2023 and solutions to enhance foreign investment attraction in the coming period. International organizations have consistently rated Vietnam as one of the two countries in Asia with a stable and positive long-term credit index, leading the Southeast Asian region in post-pandemic recovery (ranking 8th globally). Therefore, it is crucial to prioritize projects with advanced technology, high-tech, clean technology, modern management, high added value, impactful technology transfer, and global supply chain connectivity.

Saigontel's representative, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tu - Deputy General Director of the company shared insights at the workshop on the direction of transforming traditional industrial parks into smart and green industrial parks. The object is on attracting investment in high-tech industries, environmentally friendly supporting industries, and creating high added value. For new investment industrial parkss, Saigontel will build a Net-zero carbon industrial park model with the goal of achieving net-zero emissions, certified globally by reputable organizations such as Envision and Bureau Veritas. Along with a smart, modern, and sustainable industrial park model, ensuring reliable safety, located in an area with a strong presence of Samsung and nearly 300 supporting businesses for Samsung, we can envision a Vietnam-Korea industrial park with the first Net-zero standard in Vietnam.

Participating in the conference on behalf of the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea, Ambassador Nguyen Vu Tung expressed confidence that with the joint organization of the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen Province, Hwaseong CCI, and Saigontel - one of the leading infrastructure development companies in Vietnam. The conference would help efficiently explore and connect opportunities. This is evidence of the general economic cooperation between Vietnam and South Korea, including cooperation between dynamically developing localities based on the upgraded Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2022.
