SAIGONTEL ALONG WITH SIA AND ENNOCONN GROUP DEVELOP THE SEMICONDUCTOR INDUSTRY ECOSYSTEM IN VIETNAM

Currently, the semiconductor industry continues to attract foreign investors. Recently, from September 25 to September 27, a Taiwanese delegation of businesses — the world's second-largest in semiconductor industry development—visited and worked with various departments in Hanoi. Accompanying the delegation on this working trip to Vietnam was SSaigon Telecommunication & Technologies Corporation (SAIGONTEL).

In the side of the Taiwanese delegation, Mr. Hoàng Tề Nguyên (English name: CY Huang) - the founder of the Southeast Asia Influential Alliance (SIA) and Chairman of FCC Partner Investment Fund led the delegation. Notably, the delegation included leading global semiconductor companies such as Ennoconn Group, Marketech International Group, Foxconn Technology Company, and Ennowell Company. On the SaigonTel's side, Ms. Nguyễn Cẩm Phương, the CEO of Saigon Telecommunication and Technology Corporation.

As part of the working program, the Taiwanese delegation and SaigonTel engaged in specific discussions on the current status and ecosystem of the semiconductor industry in Vietnam. Additionally, they exchanged ideas on collaboration in workforce training, investment experiences, policies, and future semiconductor material cooperation opportunities.

Especially within the Taiwanese business delegation, the participation of Ennoconn Group established in 1999, Ennoconn is a subsidiary specializing in computer design and industrial motherboard production under the Foxconn Group—the global leader in electronic manufacturing services (EMS). Ennoconn stands out as a leading enterprise in various application fields such as smart cities, smart manufacturing, ESG technology, network security, transportation, etc. With 60 smart technology solutions, Ennoconn has collaborated and provided support to both private entities and government bodies across various sectors. Notable examples include the implementation of cybersecurity solutions in countries and regions such as the United States, Japan, India, Taiwan, the Middle East, Africa, and Southeast Asia. Their IT infrastructure and integrated management center solutions are widely used in numerous locations across Taiwan.

Additionally, in the work agenda, on the first working day, the Taiwanese delegation had a meeting with representatives from the Ministry of Health. During the meeting, both sides discussed the investment potential in Vietnam. Mr. Châu Phú Thuyên, the Chairman of Ennoconn Group, also shared the achievements and experiences of the group in the healthcare sector. He expressed the desire to collaborate with technology companies like Saigontel to share and provide intelligent solutions for hospital systems and invest in the production of state-of-the-art medical equipment to enhance the quality and modernization of Vietnam's healthcare industry.

Following that, in a working session with representatives from the Ministry of Construction, Taiwanese businesses shared their experiences in the construction sector, smart city solutions, smart buildings, and energy management used for schools, banks, public buildings, and smart industrial zones that Saigontel is researching and deploying. The delegation also expressed the desire to cooperate with the Ministry of Construction and explore opportunities to support the government and relevant agencies in the digital transformation process.

Vietnam - Taiwan semiconductor industry ecosystem seminar in Hanoi.

On the following working day, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Department of Science and Technology for Economic Technical Branches - Vietnam Ministry of Science and Technology, in collaboration with the Southeast Asia Influential Alliance (SIA), organized a seminar on "Vietnam - Taiwan Semiconductor Industry Ecosystem." Saigontel was one of the key participants in the workshop.

During the seminar, Vietnam was represented by Mr. Nguyễn Phú Hùng - Head of the Department of Science and Technology for Economic-Technical Branches, and Taiwan was represented by Mr. Trần Lương Cơ - Professor of Electrical Engineering, Senior Expert, Former Minister of Science and Technology of Taiwan, and Mr. Hoàng Tề Nguyên. The seminar featured various presentations on the current status and ecosystem of the semiconductor industry in Vietnam, the development strategy of the semiconductor industry in Taiwan, and the direction of investment cooperation in Vietnam. Opportunities for Vietnam-Taiwan cooperation in the semiconductor sector in the future were discussed, along with specific issues related to research collaboration and workforce training between Vietnamese and Taiwanese partners.
