On June 6, Saigon Telecommunications & Technologies Corporation (SAIGONTEL) and a delegation of doctors from Japan had a meeting with the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province to propose cooperation with local hospitals and businesses in the health sector to deploy stem cell treatments for a number of common diseases.

The meeting was presided over by Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh - Member of the Executive Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee. Representatives of Saigontel were Ms. Nguyen Cam Phuong - General Director, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tu - Deputy General Director, along with related personnel. Representatives of the Japanese delegation were Prof/Dr. Aoi Koji – Keio Hospital, Saint Luke Hospital, Sanno Hospital, Kitasato Hospital, The Peninsula Tokyo Clinic; with research doctors in the industry.

Saigontel and the partners who are experts in the stem cell sector from a number of Japanese universities and hospitals proposed to cooperate in creating a stem cell culture lab in the area with modern equipment which follows the model certified by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare of Japan. Based on this lab, Saigontel's Japanese partners will send a team of doctors and experts to work, transfer technology, and train technicians on stem cell culture based on Japanese technology with the expectation that will develop into the leading stem cell center in Vietnam and will provide stem cells and stem cell products to all medical facilities in need in Vietnam.

Speaking at the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh highly appreciates the cooperation proposal of Saigontel and its partners. Thai Nguyen province is ready to cooperate in developing stem cell technology in the area. He believes that ministries and sectors will soon "clear the legal barrier" for stem cell technology to develop in Vietnam in general and Thai Nguyen province in particular.

In the afternoon of the same day, the representative of Saigontel and the delegation of Japanese professors and doctors visited a number of typical hospitals in Thai Nguyen province, which initially implemented a number of clinical trial activities or coordinated to implement some tasks in stem cell technology such as A Thai Nguyen Hospital, C-Mec General Clinic.
