On October, 22^nd, Long An Provincial People’s Committee organized a conference of listening opinions to complete the provincial planning for 2021-2030 period, vision to 2050. In the conference, there was attendance of leaders of departments, industries of Long An province, consulting company McKinsey & Company Vietnam Limited, sponsor of formulation of provincial planning (Saigon Technologies and Telecommunication (Saigontel), Northwest Saigon City Development Corporation (SCD), VinaCapital Group (VCG), and Long An Business Association, other real estate enterpreneurs.

Overview of the Conference

It is known that the task of formulation of Long An provincial planning report for 2021-2030 period, vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister. Consulting agreement of formulation of planning signed on 02/3/2021, until now, after 7 months putting in implementation, such consulting agreement is conducting phase 3, basically complete all of planning content.

At the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc – Provincial Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of Provincial People’s Council highly appreciated the active and posstive of thr Council of formulation of provincial planning, the combination of lcoal departments, industries with the consulting company – McKinsey & Company and the sponsor company (Saigontel and VinaCapital, SCD) to develop the planning draft.

Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc also suggested the Provincial People’s Committee takes opinions of experts, top industry and sector experts; simultaneously he suggested that the consulting company analyzes the strengths, weaknesses, oppoturnities and threatens to highlight the advantages of Long An.

On the side of Saigontel – as a co-sponsor for the formulation of Long An provicial planning with many experiences in construction sectors, industrial parl development and attracting industrial park investment, Ms. Nguyen Cam Phuong – General Director of the company had many feedbacks in this conference. All of her feedback related to the focus on developing reesidential house for workers in industrial parks through social residential house, increasing land bank in industrial parks. In addition, Ms. Nguyen Cam Phuong also said that the consulting companies must supplement experts for industrial parks, and strategy of connecting regions with surrounding provinces such as Long An, Dong Nai, HCMC; industrial park model must be set up amd developed; simultaneously the human resource need to be focused and developed after Covid-19 pandemic, etc.

At the conference, there was attendance of the Chairman of Long An Provincial People’s Committee, Chairman of the Council of the formulation of provincial planning – Mr. Nguyen Van Ut also asked the consulting company, Department of Investment and Planning, local departments, industries to focus on implementing the set forth contents; simultaneously he suggested the consulting company to research and receive opinions of participants in the conference regarding the formulation of Long An provincial planning to be effective and appropriate with the set forth orientation of the province.
