On July, 19th, 2021, Saigon Telecommunication and Technologies Corporation - SAIGONTEL, Roland Berger and Korean Association in Vietnam (KUAV) had a meeting with leaders of Hai Duong province to present idea of planning for development industrial zone in Red River Delta in Thanh Mien and Binh Giang districts, Hai Duong province. In which, proposed an innovation and startup hub is the core. Simultaneously, proposed to promote investment promotion in Korea market for Hai Duong province in 2021-2022.

On the side of the province, there was attendance of Mr. Pham Xuan Thang (Hai Duong Provincial Party Secretary); Mr. Luu Van Ban (Member of Provincial Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People’s Committee); Mr. Tran Van Quan (Member of Party Secretary, Vice Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People’s Committee) and Directors of departments, boards, industries, Industrial Zone Authorities.

On the side of Saigontel Group, there was Ms. Nguyen Cam Phuong - General Director; Mr. Nguyen Anh Tu - Deputy General Director and leaders of member companies of SAIGONTEL. In addition, there was attendance of Mr. Bui Dao Thai Truong - Deputy General Director of Roland Berger in Southeast Asia; Mr. Pham The Truong - Member of the Board of Directors of Nhat Tam company; Mr. Yoon Sang Ho - Chairman of Korean Association in Vietnam, General Director of SMBL.

Overview of the meeting between the leaders of Hai Duong province, Roland Berger, SMBL and Korean Association in Vietnam

The idea of development Hai Duong into an industrial zone in the Red Rivel Delta to seize global trend that develops new industrial park, seize FDI flow towards Vietnam and bring into play the potential and strengths of Hai Duong province. The attendee highly agreed with the vision of Hai Duong province to become a dynamic industrial zone in Red River Delta with 3 main development pillars as proposed, namely hi-tech specialized industrial park and innovation hub linking value chain.

SAIGONTEL and Roland Berger affirmed that: Thanks to the development of infrastructure and connected transport, industrial real estate in the North has been more prominent, attracting signigicant foreign investment. In which, Hai Duong located at the center and it is convenient for the province to receive synergic value from its neighboring provinces. It is expected that in 2030, industrial GRDP of the province will reach VND 180.000 billion, contributing 60-70% to GRDP.

The attendees highly agreed with the vision of Hai Duong province to become a dynamic industrial zone in Red River Delta.

Mr. Pham Xuan Thang also suggested advisory company to supplement and complete the idea to highlight specific potential and the unique strength of Hai Duong and request to expand the boundaries, scope of research to over 10.000 hectares that enough investment attraction for the industrial zone...Simultaneously, transport industry is assigned to advise on the expansion, upgrade routes to ensure development; of which focusing on upgrading Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway route.

In conclusion of the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary - Mr. Pham Xuan Thang highly appreciated the idea of developing a dynamic industrial zone propsed by SAIGONTEL and advisory companies.. He said that the idea with vision matching with the thinking and aspirations set out by Hai Duong province to 2030 is “Green growth, digital transformation, promotion of innovation for breakthrough development, sustainability, upgrade the position of Hai Duong”.
