On August 18th, at Bangalore city, a capital of Karnataka, India, Vietnamese Ambassador in India coordinate with Indian authority to organize Vietnam - India investment, startup matching with a theme “Invest Vietnam - Hi-tech investment cooperation and startup, innovation”.

Attending the event, there were Mr. Pham Sanh Chau - Vietnamese Ambassador in India, representative of the authority, management authorities of investment, science and technology, innovation of Karnataka state, companies, investment funds, startups.

Attending the meeting through on line form, on Vietnam’s delegation, there was attendance of Ministry of Investment and Planning, Ministry of Industry and Trade, ISEV - Ministry of Science and Technology, Department of Science and Technology of Da Nang city, representatives of Thua Thien Hue provinces. Vinacapital company, Saigon Telecommunication and Technologies Corporation (Saigontel), Nhat Tam consulting service and investment company.

Karnataka is considered as the leading innovation hub in India. Currently, the state has 14 out of more than 30 startups with the value at over USD 1 billion. Especially, this is also a place where the world’s largest insulin and cancer drug manufacturing. Enterprises in Karnataka are looking for cooperation opportunities in pharmaceuticals fields and hi-tech industries.

Mr. Pham Sanh Chau said: “I hope that via this meeting, provinces in Vietnam, especially 2 provinces in the Central such as Hue, Da Nang can approach Indian partners and have projects implemented after this meeting”.

Then, the speakers of the two parties have presentations to discuss, share information on the situation, development of startup ecosystem and innovation of each party. Two enterprises of India have presented technology and innovation activities and startups of enterprises in Karnataka state, incentive policies for hi-tech startups, promoting startup ecosystem, On the side of Vietnam, ISEV has briefly introduced startup system of Vietnam. after that, representatives of provinces: Da Nang, Thue Thien Hue also introduced planning, policies for investment attraction of the provinces, cooperation potential...

Attending on line meeting, there was attendance of representative of Saigontel - Ms. Nguyen Cam Phuong - General Director, Mr. Pham The Truong - Director of Nhat Tam company. At the presentation session, Mr. Pham The Truong briefly presented Projects of Establishment Innovation and Startup Hub for Mekong Delta and Red River Delta. Mr. Truong stated that experience of Saigontel and Nhat Tam in implementing such projects and set forth visions of Innovation and Startup Hub to become Vietnam’s leading model hub.
