In the morning of April 19^th 2021, the session "Orientation for the high-tech economic zones development" was successfully organized at Thong Nhat Hall, Long An province. This is an international cooperation program to attract investment organized by Long An province, under SAIGONTEL’s initiative. After the discussion, the participating organizations have made many important signings.

On the side of the Central leadership, there was attendance of Mr. Truong Hoa Binh - Standing Deputy Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Mr. Cao Huy - Vice Chairman of Government Office.

On the Korean side, there was attendance of Mr. Park Noh-wan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam; Mr. Cho Han Deog – Country Director of KOICA Vietnam Office; together with representatives of the Korean Federation in Vietnam, Korea Chamber of Business in Vietnam KORCHAM; typical Korean investment groups such as: SK, Samsung, Lotte, Hanwha, Shinhan, Nice Info and technology corporations, multinational corporations including: Microsoft, Dell EMC, Nvidia; S.A.P, SIEMENS, ControlS, etc.

On the side of Long An province’s Leaders, there was attendance of Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc - Member of the Party Central Committee, Provincial Party Secretary; Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Pham Van Ranh - Former member of the Party Central Committee, former Provincial Party Secretary, Former Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Committee; Standing Deputy Provincial Party Secretary, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and members of the Standing Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Council, Provincial People's Committee and leaders of departments, industries and districts, towns and cities.  

On the side of Saigon Invest Group - the organization that initiated this session, there was attendance of Mr. Dang Thanh Tam - Chairman of Group, Chairman of SAIGONTEL.

Long An's development potential from the delegates’perspective

Speaking in front of more than 150 delegates and guests, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh stated: "The provincial advantages have brought a high development to Long An province in recent years, people's lives are getting better and better. Long An needs to exploit and promote the potential of the province and pay attention to invest in infrastructure connection as well as expand industrial parks, industrial zones, seaports to create favorable conditions for Enterprises."

Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh also said: "Long An is a dynamic locality with an open investment environment. Long An completely has the advantage of developing a high-tech economy to achieve the goals set by the province. Therefore, Long An needs to get experts and enterprises ‘opinions to contribute to the development of the province's high-tech economy.”

Also at the session, Mr. Park Noh Wan - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam highly appreciated the development potential of Long An province. At the same time, Mr. Park Noh Wan also expressed his interest and desire to cooperate and invest in Long An province in the near future.

Following Mr. Park Noh Wan’s speech, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc – Long An Provincial Party Secretary shared: "The competitiveness index of Long An province is always in the top of the country, the province always gives priority for investors to cooperate. At the same time, the province also wants to attract investment in key markets today, especially Korea, the United States, and India; striving to become the most developed high-tech and information technology economy in the Mekong Delta.

Mr. Dang Thanh Tam - Chairman of Saigon Invest Group mentioned on the investment environment in Long An that: "There is no province providing short time to grant investment licenses and create favorable conditions for enterprises as quickly as Long An. Therefore, Long An's development indicators are getting increasing, I think that Long An province has very favorable conditions for developing high-tech economic zones. Saigon Invest Group will assist Long An province in attracting foreign investment. We have experience in this field and up to now, Saigon Invest Group (SGI) has attracted more than 2 billion USD dollars into Vietnam, typically high-tech projects of LG, Samsung, etc."

Session on development orientation of high-tech economic zone

The program was followed by a discussion session of Long An province and strategic consulting units as well as the leading information technology corporations in Vietnam and the world. On the side of Long An province, there were attendance of Mr. Huynh Van Son - Director of the Department of Planning and Investment of Long An province; Mr. Nguyen Ba Luan - Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Long An province; Mr. Tran Long - Director of BIDV's Foreign Corporate Customer Department; Mr. Bui Dao Thai Truong - General Director of Roland Berger Vietnam; Mr. Hoang Van Ngoc - Director of Viettel IDC; Ms. Pham Tu Uyen – Director of Ciad Microsoft; Mr. Nguyen Hong Viet - Executive Director of SAP Vietnam (Germany).

Mr. Huynh Van Son - Director of the Department of Planning and Investment of Long An province said that Long An province will set out actions and tasks oriented to 2030. The province will also promote site clearance and increase investment infrastructure, training CLC human resources. Accordingly, Mr. Son also said that Long An province will cooperate with SAIGONTEL and investors and enterprises to attract investment to the province.

At the session, Mr. Nguyen Ba Luan - Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Long An province affirmed: Long An province is very determined in the digital transformation (vision to 2030) and considers digital transformation as a revolution. Long An province will invest strongly in the information technology field as well as refer to the introduction of digital infrastructure solutions in IT with clear goals.

Sharing with the guests participating in the discussion, Mr. Bui Dao Thai Truong - General Director of Roland Berger Viet Nam emphasized that Roland Berger will provide a specific roadmap to implement the right digital transformation consulting services in Long An province complying with the Ministry’s standard for the citizens, for enterprises, for society and for the economy.

Mr. Hoang Van Ngoc, Director of Viettel IDC, stated that digital transformation needs to be done at all three levels: digital government, digital society, and digital economy. Viettel IDC is ready to accompany the Department of Information and Communications to map out a roadmap to build infrastructure for smart cities, high-tech zones and solutions for Enterprises.

After the session, Long An Provincial People's Committee - SAIGONTEL - and partners in units and enterprises conducted the Signing Ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding.

Accordingly, Saigon Telecommunication & Technologies Corporation (SAIGONTEL) signed the following minutes: Memorandum of Understanding "Sponsoring for digital transformation consulting services between Long An Province - SAIGONTEL", Contract of "Supplying consulting service on digital transformation” between Long An province - SAIGONTEL - Roland Berger; signing a memorandum of Understanding for corporation between Long An Provincial People's Committee - SAIGONTEL – VNPAY. Through memorandum of Understanding for corporation, SAIGONTEL commits to accompany the province Long An province, supporting the province to develop strongly in digital transformation, bringing Long An province into a high-tech economic region in accordance with the orientation and goals set out in the program.

The session program "Orientation for the high-tech economic zones development" took place successfully. The program opens up opportunities for cooperation and investment attraction from foreign corporations and enterprises, especially Korea - a country with advanced and modern developed information technology. Along with that, this is also an opportunity for SAIGONTEL to demonstrate its development capacity in the telecommunications - technology field. At the same time, attracting Korean investment to Long An province will create steps for SAIGONTEL's industrial park projects invested in the locality.
