According to technology experts, Vietnam is a developing country with incomplete transport, urban and technology infrastructure, this is really an opportunity for the smart technology industry to explode in the future. Infrastructure development, including the development of technology infrastructure, is the driving force for economic development and the core standard in improving the national competitiveness index in Industry 4.0.

Faced with this opportunity and challenge, SAIGONTEL, with its experience and network of promotion relations together with Microsoft (the US leading technology corporation in the field of software copyright, computer and artificial intelligence technology) and NGS partner (Microsoft's leading partner in providing and implementing solutions) to become strategic consultants, invest in technology infrastructure to help Ba Ria Vung Tau quickly completing the smart city construction target; In addition, SAIGONTEL also cooperates with PwC Vietnam Co., Ltd (a member of PwC company - one of the four leading strategic consulting and auditing firms in the world). With experience in most business fields, including IT, PwC Vietnam plays the role of SAIGONTEL's strategic consulting partner in project feasibility study, planning and strategy development of Smart City model in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.

In the morning of December 7th , 2020, with the approval and support of Ba Ria Vung Tau People's Committee, the Department of Information and Communications in collaboration with the Department of Education and Training of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province officially organized an online meeting with the alliance of SAIGONTEL - Microsoft Vietnam - NGS and PwC Vietnam Co., Ltd. to understand the current state of technology infrastructure and Smart City development orientation.

There was online attendance of Mr. Le Viet Trung - Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications, chairman of the meeting; Mr. Nguyen Kim Khanh – Director of Department of Education and Training; Mr. Nguyen Dang Khoa - Deputy General Director of SAIGONTEL Company.

There was also online attendance of Representatives of Microsoft VN’s the Board of Directors were Mr. Pham The Truong - General Director of Microsoft VN and heads of departments/divisions; On the side of PwC Vietnam Co., Ltd, there was attendance of Mr. Tran Giang - Smart City Consultant. There are also other members of the strategic consultancy group.

At the meeting, SAIGONTEL, with advantages and experience in the Telecommunication and Technology field along with a network of major partners in this field, cooperates with Microsoft VN and PwC VN to offer solutions, structures to build an overall smart city and at the same time proposing the implementation of core component solutions including: e-government, Smart Education and Smart Health with Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.

Ba Ria Vung Tau’s developed infrastructure and synchronous transportation system has created many breakthroughs. Therefore, Ba Ria - Vung Tau is built as a smart city at this time which is a smart choice to help the city move to a smart city, planning, managing and operating the city effectively, bringing the green, convenient, prosperous and connected life to people. In addition, building a smart education award also contributes to reform the quality of teaching and learning and creating high-quality human resources for the country. This will be a launch pad to promote socio-economic development of the province.

The meeting is summarized that the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Department of Information and Communications and the Department of Education and Training of highly appreciated the solution to build and develop a smart city and pledged to cooperate and implement the plan to build and develop the project.
